Job Description


  • The IT and System Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the IT infrastructure, systems, and software applications within the organization.
  • This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, providing end-user support, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT systems.
  • The candidate will work closely with other IT professionals to implement and manage technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, servers, and other IT equipment.
  • System Maintenance:
  • Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and security of IT systems.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and patch management to maintain system integrity.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with company policies.


Job Responsibilities

  • Network Management:
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPNs.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in managing network security, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Software Management:
  • Install, update, and manage software applications, ensuring compatibility and security.
  • Provide training and support to users on new software and systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • IT Infrastructure Management:
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure projects.
  • Support the deployment of new hardware, software, and technology solutions.
  • Ensure proper documentation of IT processes, systems configurations, and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
  • Respond to IT support requests and manage the IT helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as needed.
  • Document and track the resolution of issues and provide regular updates to users.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain IT security protocols to protect company data and systems.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on the latest IT trends and technologies.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to IT processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in IT projects and contribute to the development of IT strategies.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Experience with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in using and managing IT tools such as ticketing systems, remote support tools, and network monitoring software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
