We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Data Center and Data Governance Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing data center operations, implementing and maintaining data governance policies, and ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's data assets. Responsibilities:

Data Center Operations:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the data center.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of data center infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain data center best practices for power, cooling, and space utilization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute data center migrations, expansions, or consolidations.
  • Conduct regular audits of data center equipment, ensuring proper documentation and asset management.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the data center.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data center technologies and recommend improvements.

Data Governance:

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business units to define data ownership, quality standards, and data classification.
  • Establish and enforce data security and privacy measures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee data lifecycle management, including data acquisition, storage, processing, and archival.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement measures to improve data accuracy and consistency.
  • Implement data access controls and authorization mechanisms.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on data governance principles and best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure data governance compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in data center operations and data governance.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with data governance tools and metadata management.
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data governance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have:

  • Certifications in data governance (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional - CIMP).
  • Experience with data governance platforms and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence concepts.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies such as edge computing.
