Job Description

  • Intermediate experience with SQL Server 2012 and higher
  • Configure, deploy, and support MS-SQL Server databases using approved tools & utilities
  • Ensure that nightly SSIS jobs complete successfully
  • Ensure database solutions are available, accurate, secure, and developed according to business requirements
  • Participate in on-line processing database and performance tuning
  • Work with others in IT to build the logical database area
  • Provide technical guidance during all the phases of the development process
  • Proactive tuning and working with developers to insure that the database is laid out to efficiently work with the application
  • Developing and maintaining database backup and recovery strategies
  • Working proactively with developers and infrastructure team to develop, maintain and test a recovery strategy locally and at a disaster recovery location
  • Prior experience in SQL based programming, database design, and development
  • Experience of supporting developers and technical end users

Job Responsibilities

  • Prior experience in SQL based programming, database design, and development

  • Experience of supporting web and commercial database applications
  • A minimum of five years technical experience in DBA related functions
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 to 2014
  • Experience as a DBA working in medium to large organisations supporting a varied catalogue of mission critical databases supporting enterprise scale application systems
