Position overview


A product analyst works through the business requirements, identifies user stories, works

with different cross functional teams to identify, and validate the solution, works with

development teams to communicate requirements and solution. The person works closely

with the Product owner to align with releases against the priorities.


Responsibilities


1. Understand the customer needs and produce ideal solutions


a. Effective requirements elicitation

b. Impact assessment

c. Identify solutions to business requirements/problems and validate with technical

teams/designers

d. Conduct market research, competitor research to check the solution fit

e. Ensure solution fits the purpose and aligns with the overall product strategy

f. Ensure solution is reviewed and approved by the Product owner

2. Documentation of requirements

a. Effective break down of user stories

b. Defining clear acceptance criteria

c. Ensure user stories are reviewed and approved by Product owner

d. Validate against DOR before making stories ready for development

2. Ensure the UX/UI designs are in place

a. Brief the requirements to UX/UI designers

b. Review the design proposals and ensure the designs are aligned with the user stories

2. Participation in grooming sessions

a. Walk through of the requirements and solution to implementation team

b. Provide clarifications from implementation team

2. Review the product implementation and demo to stakeholders

a. Review the implementation during each iteration and provide feedback to

implementation teams

b. Demo the product features to stakeholders

2. Prepare product documentation

a. Work closely with technical writer (if applicable) and ensure the product

documentation is adequate. Prepare product documentation if technical writer is not

available

2. Product understanding

a. Excellent understanding of the product and ability to work independently

b. Able to demonstrate the product features to stakeholders at any given point

c. Perform market/customer/competitor research and propose new features/enhancements to be built
